The Nominate a Veteran program by Giving Group was created to make a real impact on the lives of active military and veterans in our community. In 2024, Giving Group will choose a few veterans or active military members to participate in the following giving initiatives:

1. Room Remodel: Giving Group will select 1 or 2 active military or veterans/veteran families and sponsor a small home renovation project for them. Please see the parameters for the remodel below.

2. Weekend Getaway: Giving Group will also select 1 or 2 active military or veterans (individual or couple) to sponsor a local weekend gateway to celebrate Military Appreciation Month (May 2024). This package will consist of a weekend hotel stay, dinner, and breakfast in the NW Suburbs of the Chicago area.

3. Veteran Holiday Joy Initiative: Giving Group will select up to 6 military/veteran families to sponsor this year’s Christmas gifts.

Nomination Requirements:

• Must reside in Illinois and provide an IL state-issued ID (Driver's License or State ID)

• If chosen, Veterans will need to provide a valid DD 214 and dates of Active/Reserve Duty and be open to a discovery call to better understand their needs.

• Rood Remodel: This is a pilot program, and thus, the remodeling project will not include kitchens/bathrooms, plumbing/electrician services, or structural upgrades/updates that require permits.
