Midwest Veterans Closet Food Drive Volunteer Day

As part of our Veterans Initiative we are going back to Midwest Veterans Closet to sponsor a food drive for the families of veterans of North Chicagoland. We will be looking for 15-20 volunteers to join us and help distribute the food. 

Volunteer responsibilities will include sorting and packaging food, directing traffic, loading grocery bags in the cars and assisting Midwest Veterans Closet volunteers with other responsibilities. 

Every Friday over 200 families come to Midwest Veterans Closet to pick up food that will give them the nutrition they need to survive. Giving Group is grateful to be a part of this mission and to be able to help with the food distribution. RSVP below to sign up!

If you are unable to come but would still like to support military and veterans families in need, here is the list of the items that are always in demand:

• Bath towels, hand towels, kitchen towels
• Cans of tuna, chili or soup
• Mens jeans (all sizes but XL+ especially; Men short, socks and underwear (new, not worn)
